MMO Games on Steam

Massively multiplayer games, where you share a persistent world with many other players. A lot of these are free-to-play, which makes them an easy default when a group can't find anything they all already own.

What to check before you commit

  • Owning the same MMO isn't sufficient — you also need to be on the same server or region, and that's often locked in at character creation.
  • Many are free, so a friend missing from the list can usually just install it.
  • Some carry subscriptions or expansion requirements that ownership on Steam doesn't cover.
